Shimaa Badawy – Sekhmet goddess, is the founder of Sekhmet Tours. As a business administrator for more than 20 years, she has a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and a Doctor Businesses Administration (BDA). Having worked many years as a business and quality consultant, she grew professionally while leading people in the field of health care, working as a Pacient Relation Manager in private hospital.
Her gift for clear, empathic communication, and her skills of collaboration, organization, time management, and strategic problem solving make her a natural entrepreneur and leader.

You might wonder how a business professional of her caliber became an Egyptologist and completely changed her life path…

The story begins in 2021 when Shimaa experienced the most difficult year of her life with the loss of her beloved sister Doaa, a victim of stomach cancer. Doaa was ahead of her time. Twenty years ago against all odds, she became one of the first women to graduate as an Egyptologist and dedicated her life to providing the best experience for her clients to facilitate and support their own transformations.

In a time when a woman’s place was thought to be in the home caring for the family, Shimaa and her three sisters broke patriarchal paradigms- becoming strong, successful professionals in business, medicine, journalism and Egyptology- all fields historically dominated by men.

Two years before Doaa passed away, she asked Shimaa to help on her private tours because Doaa didn’t want her clients to know she had cancer. Shimaa was her right hand when Doa needed her most, and Shimaa stood in for Doaa when she was not able to find the necessary physical strength due to her chemotherapy treatment and severe pain.

Doaa’s cancer advanced rapidly, metastasizing to her brain, which left her in a coma in May 2021. Unconscious for one month, Doaa gave Shimaa a smile when she pronounced the name Sekhmet! That was the key for Shimaa to understand her next step in life!

From the time Shimaa began assisting Doaa on the tours, Doaa tried to persuade Shimaa to join her in her company. But while Shimaa longed to join Doaa in her dream, she only found the strength to face such enormous change after her sister’s passing.

For family reasons, Shimaa had to found a new company. She named it Sekhmet Tours in honor of the Goddess Sekhmet to whom Doaa has always been devoted.

Since then, Shimaa has been in the process of changing careers to make Doaa’s dream possible, with the mission of maintaining her legacy:
